President and Founder
Danny Wood has been in the construction industry for well over 28 years. He is experienced in all aspects of asphalt paving, from preliminary planning to pre-paving grading and compaction to placement of a variety of asphalt pavement types. He is also knowledgeable in the areas of soil stabilization and storm drainage installation. Danny is a hands-on company president. At Athens-Atlanta Asphalt, he works with his project management team to most efficiently schedule upcoming projects and to make certain that the company's crews have the equipment that they need to do the job right the first time. Danny is particularly interested in the area of quality control. He knows the importance of quality work, and he spends time with each project to make certain that's what the customer receives. He is especially proud of his employees and the professionalism they show on every project. Danny truly enjoys his work, and his enthusiasm shows!
Vice President
Mark Rittenhouse, vice president of Athens-Atlanta Asphalt, has been in the construction industry since 1977. He has worked on a variety of projects and has diverse experience that covers many aspects of construction and asphalt paving. Mark directs much of his attention to estimating, scheduling and organizing projects prior to construction. His multi-faceted background in the industry gives him the experience he needs to work with project owners to handle complex projects and keep them moving toward timely and on-budget completion. Mark enjoys the variety of projects that Athens-Atlanta is called on to complete. He is enthusiastic about the professionalism and training that he sees in the company's crews, and he looks forward to the unique challenges that every project brings.
Project Supervisor
J.R. Richards has been working the construction industry for almost two decades. He has worked on some of the area's high-profile projects, including the parking facilities at the Georgia Dome. And if you were one of the millions who watched any of the track events during the 1996 Olympics, you saw another project he worked on - the running track inside Olympic Stadium. J.R. is a specialist in jobsite management. He manages his crews with skill and professionalism. He is also a specialist in soil stabilization, a skill that comes into play on many paving projects in the Atlanta area. But he is a hands-on manager, too, who enjoys working with his crews. In fact, he has 15 years experience as a motor grader operator - and you'll often find him handling the grading when you visit an Athens-Atlanta jobsite.
Job Foreman
With almost twenty years of experience in construction, Wayne Wilson serves as job foreman on many Athens-Atlanta projects. He is a specialist in operation of paving machines, loaders, rollers and other machines in Athens-Atlanta's fleet of late-model construction equipment. Wayne's skills are much in demand on Athens-Atlanta's projects, and he will often find himself working on several different projects in the course of a single day.
Project Superintendent/Grading Foreman
Ken Stokes has been in the construction field for almost thirty years. He has works on several major road projects through out Metro Atlanta. Ken also manages his projects and his crew throughout the project. Ken is a hand on manager and you will find him running various pieces of equipment on his project.
Sales
Nathan has over twenty years experience in the commercial and residential construction. He is currently in his fourth year with Athens-Atlanta Asphalt Co., Inc. as a commercial sales agent..
Paving Foreman
Daniel has been with Athens-Atlanta Asphalt Co., Inc for four years. Daniel is the son of our president Daniel Wood. He is a paving foreman and is very enthusiastic about what he is doing.
